Michigan AD David Brandon says he is sticking to his timetable to evaluate Rich Rodriguez after the season. ESPN’s report indicates that he wants to let the season play out and then they finally reference the fact that we first brought up here in our post of November 3rd. In our report we highlighted the buyout issues in Rodriguez’ contract and they the fact that the timing for termination would allow Michigan to save $1.5 million by having the termination effective after January 1st.
We have seen nothing that leads us to believe that Rodriguez will be retained based on the way that the search is being handled and the lack of progress with the team.
Expect an announcement shortly after Michigan’s bowl game.
