The NHL held Board of Governors meetings this week and despite the many issues facing the leage, Commissioner Gary Bettman said that there were no major developments.
If you look at the whole AP report, there were still quite a few items being examined:
- Franchise movement (Atlanta, Phoenix, Calgary)
- TV rights–currently in a 90 day exclusive negotiating window for VS and then will head into an exclusive period with NBC
- Head shot rule designed to prevent concussions.
The NHL will be entering an important phase of trying to capitalize on some momentum of some major market teams like the Blackhawks.
