A literal case of David and Goliath. A small apparel manufacturer located in Buffalo Grove, Illinois (suburban Chicago) takes on the most powerful league in sports.
And loses.
But Goliath is arrogant enough to say that it wanted a “bigger” victory than it already received so it appealed the “win”.
In the appeal the NFL was essentially looking for a blanket exemption for the league to be considered a single entity for most purposes.
The Supreme Court remanded the case for further discovery on the facts and details and the resolution of this case could have a major impact on all sports.
