Miami problems raise many issues rarely discussed

The problems at Miami have raised a lot of issues that are rarely discussed.  While they bring to the forefront the changes that are needed in the NCAA and the landscape of college sports, they also raise some additonal questions that are important for consideration by those at the universities.

Among those questions:

  • How much due diligence does a school have an obligation to undertake with respect to the donations it receives?
  • How much access should any booster be allowed to the players?
  • Where should that access be allowed?
  • Isn’t there some significant benefit from having the players involved with and connecting with boosters from a personal development and business education standpoint.
