Texas A&M preparing for move

As you recall when we addressed the situation a few weeks ago, the SEC had turned down A&M’s request for admission.

There seemed little doubt that it was a short term “rejection” designed only to insulate the SEC from being placed in the position of “interfering” with the Big 12 or “encouraging” the movement.

So essentially A&M has spent the last few weeks laying the groundwork to the movement and providing notice to the SEC that it intends to move.

Now this weekend rumors have leaked that A&M intends to announce a move and then the ball will go back to the SEC’s court.

How long will it take the SEC to accept them?  Not likely to be a long term process though it seems likely that the SEC will not officially admit A&M until it has identified at least one (and maybe 3) more schools for admission.

Could make the first weekend of the college season quite interesting.
