Starcaps suspensions finally take effect; Kevin Williams loses a lot more $$$

The long delayed suspensions resulting from the Starcaps case are finally slated to take effect at the beginning of this NFL season.

Vikings DT Kevin Williams will be suspended for two games and fined an additional two game checks as a result of his “indiscretion”.

The other players involved in the case are receiving similar treatments.

But Williams paid a significant price as you can see by the fact that had he accepted the original proposed suspension it would have cost him $232k.  If he had taken the suspension the following season it would have cost him $535k.   Under his current contract, the 4 game suspension will now cost him $1.41 million.

This is the type of justice where the advice he got from both the NFLPA and his agents and/or attorneys really did him a disservice in the long run.
