Great irony in having Franco Harris removed as spokesperson for Paterno support

Once the public sentiment is against someone, speaking out on their behalf can be dangerous to your personal and professional reputation.

Franco Harris was removed from a position with a local casino as a result of speaking publicly in support of Paterno.

The irony?

It is exactly the opposite of what we need to be encouraging.  One of the reasons that the whole PSU situation got as out of control as it has is precisely BECAUSE NOBODY WAS WILLING TO SPEAK OUT AND TAKE AN UNPOPULAR POSITION.

So here Franco stands up and does just that and is removed.
