Are coaches held to a lower (cowardly) standard than players?

Interesting article from John Harris in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review about whether coaches are essentially allowed to act as cowards.

He makes a lot of good points about the way many of them behave in leaving their prior positions or dealing with difficult situations.
